Luxury hotels. It is usually very beautiful/very historic/very expensive, but if you have decided to break your piggy bank, St. Petersburg has some excellent establishments and some of the most beautiful hotels in Europe. To access this category of establishments, one night in season costs between 200 and 300 € in a standard double room.

Intermediate budget. The category of charming or comfort hotels includes both poorly lit ground floors and small pearls in the city centre . The selection of comfort and/or charming hotels proposed in the guide helps to avoid unpleasant surprises. One night will cost between 60 and 80 € in season.

Low budget. To sleep at a lower cost, you will have to resort to youth hostels, hostels or renting apartments and rooms in private homes. A bed in a dormitory costs 10 to 20 € out of season, 25 € + in season.

To be booked

The advantageous exchange rate of the euro against the ruble is in itself a good reason to visit St. Petersburg. Nevertheless, the destination is subject to strong seasonality and the rooms of the establishments are fully booked 3 to 6 months in advance for the "Sleepless Nights". This trend is reflected in the price, which varies significantly depending on the season, often by a single or double room or even more (for the 3 weeks that the "Sleepless Night" lasts). It is therefore imperative to book well in advance for this period!

What's very local

In 2020, St. Petersburg had not yet imposed any restrictions on the letting of private apartments on the main connecting sites (Airbnb, Homeaway, etc.). The offer is therefore very wide, and the quality and prices vary greatly! Here again, the chances of a good deal increase with a reservation sufficiently in advance of the stay. Usually, everything is included in the final price of the service (sheets, Wi-Fi, etc.) but you can never be too careful, so check it out.

Smokers

Smoking is strictly forbidden in the hotels, even on the balcony and in most rental apartments under penalty of a fine.
