Budget & Tips

For ballet and opera performances, it is imperative to reserve your tickets as far in advance as possible. Incoming agencies will be of great help if you wish to secure your tickets and placements without worrying too much about logistics.

Nightclub admission costs around €10-15 when buying admission on the spot. For some evenings, it is possible to register on the list or buy your tickets in advance through the official website of the establishments, this will save you a few euros.

Night transport

Some buses operate at night but we advise you to opt for a taxi via the popular applications (Uber, Gett, Yandex Taxi). This is cheap and will allow you to travel safely late at night, with costs fixed in advance. If you don't have an application, ask about the phone numbers of official taxis. Don't hail a taxi on the street unless you are fluent in Russian and know the city well, as you could have bad experiences in most cases.

Age restrictions

The main clubs (Raf25, Blank, etc.) are reserved for the 21 years old and over. Please ask before going there and bring an ID card for all occasions.

What's very local

It is necessary to dress elegantly for any outing to the theatre or classical music performance, otherwise you will feel uncomfortable. Russians respect great music and classical art, they all come very elegant to the show.
Friends clubbers, considering that the face control is not as strict as in Berlin, but it is real, it is strongly advised not to get too much attention in the queue of clubs and parties. Avoid speaking agitatedly in a foreign language and, basically, try to look as natural and relaxed as possible, as if you were part of the furniture! The dress code depends on the establishment you are looking for, but keep in mind that the weekend is sacred in Piter and the dance floors are packed. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes that are not too fragile, and sunglasses to protect your tired eyes in the early morning.

Smokers

Smoking is not permitted in public places, but clubs provide smoking rooms on site.
