NIKOLAI NEKRASSOV HOUSE-MUSEUM
It is in this old building on the Liteïnyi perspective, not far from the Nevski perspective, that the great poet and Russian stoddart Nikolai Nekrassov (1821-1877) spend his last twenty years.
The museum exhibits the personal effects of the poet. The suite of comfortable rooms included a ballroom. Her room was reconstituted as she was during the last year of her life, according to the table showing her death and you can observe in the room.
You also find in the museum the original editions of his works, recalling the considerable influence he exercises on literature and society, which he does not hesitate to denounce, taking counsel for a peasantry still abused despite the abolition of serfdom. His major works, Sacha and the Frost on the Red Nose, earned him a very high popularity. With his accomplice Belinski, Nekrassov animated the literary life pétersbourgeoise with two famous magazines, Le Contemporary and Les Annals de la Homeland, which is worth passing on to one of the pioneers of Russian journalism in the second half of the th century, to which the museum also devotes an exhibition.
