Basic food in many countries, bread (khleb in Russian) has its museum in St. Petersburg since 1988, the first of its kind in Russia and the thirteenth in the world. After a visit to the Bread Museum, you will be keyboard about the evolution of the techniques of making bread through history, in Russia and, more generally, on everything that affects bread and also pastry. Here you will see ovens, traditional and modern, and all kinds of other original processes for cooking bread, as well as advertising posters, photos, works of art and archival documents, follows bread on all modes, from Pierre the Great to nowadays. The major religious festivals such as the one at Easter, which largely solicit bread, are the occasion for exhibitions devoted to traditions that have often lost themselves in urban society.
