It is in the luxurious décor of one of Saint Petersburg's great palaces, Nevsky Palace, that the large family of actors Samoïlov has had its museum since January 28, 1994. A permanent residence for this dynasty, which has done so much for the th century Russian theatre, the museum of which recounts the great moments. The permanent exhibition, entitled «The Samoïlov Dynasty and the Theatre Life in St. Petersburg», consists of the archives left by the Patriarch of this great family of actors, V. Samoïlov, and his son's collections. In favour of the literary and musical evenings organized there, the museum revives the theatre tradition inherited from this dynasty of actors.
