Built between 1895 and 1905, in a neo-Russian style by Sultanov, it is reminiscent of St Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. However, it is more massive and less elegant. Closed during the Soviet era, it was returned to worship in 1989. It is the only open church in Peterhof. The sound of its new bells, which come from Aachen, carries to the lower park. Inside the cathedral, restoration work is nearing completion.
