Renovated thanks to the Schnitzer family, the «Schnitz», as the Portlandais said, was built in 1928 as Portland Public Theatre and reopened in 1984 in its current form. Its Italian rococo Renaissance style is the fruit of the imagination of the Berliner & Rapp architects known for their theatres in Chicago. The building is quickly linked with its gigantic Portland panel. He plays mainly the representations of the Oregon Symphony, White Bird Dance Company and Portland Arts & Readings.
