The zoo is famous for its elephants and for the restoration of the natural living environment of animals. There is a section dedicated to wildlife from Pacific Northwest, with black bears, otters, beavers and other deer. A small train connects the gardens of Washington Park to the zoo. Max station is right in front of the zoo entrance.
