Founded in 1944 by John C. Stevens, a civil engineer in Portland, OMSI is one of the most important scientific museums in the United States and the main tourist attraction in Oregon. The museum is a centre of scientific, educational and cultural resources, the aim of which is to improve the public understanding of science and technology. It consists of five halls with interactive exhibitions for small and large. A not miss: The visit of a submarine, the USS Blueback. Also a Omnimax and a planetarium.
