COLUMBIA GORGE DISCOVERY CENTER AND MUSEUM
Find out everything about the Lewis and Clark expedition from 1804 to 1806, the cultural and natural history of the Columbia River Gorge and Wasco County. This museum is well worth a visit both for its exhibitions and its location along the Columbia River, which offers beautiful walks. It is divided into two parts: the Historical Museum displays reconstructions of pioneer life (streets, buildings, vehicles, objects); and the Discovery Centre details the equipment and materials used by Lewis and Clark adventurers (weapons, medicines, orientation instruments, clothing). Interactive exhibition for young people and on the geology of the gorges. Children can play archaeologists, dress up as Lewis and Clark and have fun in the Kids Explorer Room. Souvenir shop and coffee (free access).
