DEAD HORSE POINT STATE PARK
State park that offers beautiful scenery with views of the Colorado River from its spectacular overlooks.
Adjacent to the northeast corner of Canyonlands National Park, this 2,170-acre state park offers magnificent scenery. The views of the Colorado River from its overlooks are spectacular. Dead Horse Point was named for its use as a cowboy corral in the 19th century. At the end of the park, the steep cliffs of a mesa formed the ideal and impassable boundaries of a natural enclosure. Trails lead from the visitor center.
