Lees Ferry, located 4.4 miles north of the Navajo Bridge, is one of the only places where the Colorado River is accessible.
Located 4.4 miles north of the Navajo Bridge, at the confluence of the Paria River, it is one of the only places where the Colorado River is accessible. In 1873, the Mormon Church sent John D. Lee to install a ferry here, which operated from 1873 until 1928, when it sank, killing three people. There is a ranger station, campground, boat launch, and a 15-mile trip up the Colorado River to Glen Canyon Dam. A trail of about 2 miles (round trip) allows you to walk there, to be avoided in the middle of summer.
