CONSULAT HONORAIRE DE FRANCE
The Honorary Consulate of France in Bobo-Dioulasso is a consular agency that extends the French consular network as close as possible to French nationals. It is managed by an Honorary Consul, Mr Alain BOSTAL. Honorary consuls are private individuals who perform their duties on a voluntary basis, and their main mission is to protect French nationals and their interests. They can help in emergency situations, such as illness, death, imprisonment or loss of identity papers. They can also carry out certain administrative formalities, such as issuing biometric passports and national identity cards, certifying documents, etc. It's important to note, however, that the consular agency does not have all the powers vested in consulates general and embassies. The honorary consul cannot, for example, establish a notarial deed, draw up a civil status document, receive visa applications, etc. Contact details for the consular agency are as follows: Institut Français au Burkina Faso, Antenna Bobo-Dioulasso, 01 BP 3404, Bobo-Dioulasso.
