KARFIGUELA WATERFALLS
The waterfalls at Karfiguéla offer a beautiful view of the surrounding rural landscape and the dizzying gradient.
Coming from Bobo-Dioulasso, at the entrance to Banfora, a track on the right leads to the site of the Karfiguéla waterfalls (also called Banfora Falls). The road crosses sugar cane fields as far as the eye can see to a parking lot after passing through the ONTB counter. From there, we walk along a very beautiful alleyway, lined with kaïcédras, mango trees and cheese makers more than a hundred years old planted during the colonization period, to the foot of the falls. In a setting of rocks eroded by the water of the small river Koba, a tributary of the Comoé which rises on the cliff of Banfora, a very beautiful marked walk of about ten minutes leads to the top of the falls and to a string of small pools lined with lush vegetation where you can swim, a small corner of paradise. Of course, ask the guides for information on non-hazardous areas. From the top of the falls, you have a beautiful view of the surrounding rural landscape and the vertiginous slope of the waterfalls. This site is very popular, so be careful not to leave any trace of your visit and prefer to visit it during the week. It is also possible to reach the waterfalls by taking this beautiful red ochre trail on the cliff from Bérégadougou to Fabédougou, you will arrive by this road, at the top of the waterfalls, having of course paid the entrance fee to the small window just built. A beautiful ride to do by bike!
