VILLAGE D’ACCUEIL (TDS)
Located 25 km from Gorom-Gorom, the village of Koïrézéna, located in Songhai country, has an TDS (Tourism and solidarity development) camp, managed since 2001 by Abdul Kadri Maiga. The principle of this form of tourism is simple and relevant: reception within the villages and by the villagers themselves. It is a question of allowing the traveller to discover the daily lives of his inhabitants, thanks to a immersion within the village. Tourism income is distributed equitably for community development (vocational training, education, health…). In the case of Koïrézéna, tourism income helps to carry out projects around motherhood, combating environmental degradation… After welcoming the village head, activities in the day allow for a real approach to the daily lives of the villagers, and the evenings are animated by local artists around mint tea. It is possible to spend a weekend or stay longer in the settled camp, comfortable and well kept, built in the local style (cases cases, a communal Tuareg box and colourful common buildings).
