Museum dedicated to Asian art and contemporary Asian artists, with a permanent collection of about 1,000 pieces

This museum, which is mainly dedicated to Asian art, opened in 1987. Its permanent collection (about 1,000 pieces) includes furniture from the Ming Chinese dynasty (1368-1644) and sculptures from South and Southeast Asia. Do not miss the sublime statues of Hindu gods. The museum is also interested in contemporary Asian artists that it exhibits in temporary exhibitions. In short, it is a very popular museum for Asian lovers. It should be noted that Arthur Sackler, the main donor of the museum that gave it his name, is in turmoil because of his alleged role in the opioid crisis that has affected the United States since the 1970s.

Plutôt petit, surtout comparé aux mastodontes l'entourant, mais de superbes oeuvres. A ne pas rater si vous aimez l'art asiatique. Ne surtout pas rater The Peakock Room, pièce superbe.
