CITY TAVERN
The restaurant is an imposing three storey building built in 1773 to recreate the atmosphere of a London tavern. When the Revolution tempers, the place becomes an indispensable meeting place and the centre of the country's political life. So, as they inventaient a new nation, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were the first famous customers. Today, almost or nothing has changed. The building, in the heart of Old City has been preserved, servers are in the th century costume and the menu pays tribute to the American gastronomy, with great renfort chicken and rabbits, corn soups and malted beer. It's a great thing when visiting Philly with a family.
