FRANKLIN MORTGAGE & INVESTMENT CO.
In the late 1920 s, during Prohibition, Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co. (facade name) was one of the most important secret bars of the alcohol traffickers network. Having a drink on the spot is now part of the journey over time. The bar does not have a sign and cultivates the secret again. Only a doorman on the street tells you that you have arrived. He whispers you "How many people?" " (How many people?), before you disappear behind a heavy armored door, and then reappear a few minutes after getting out before you. " We come down a few steps, to get into what is like an underground, whose walls are painted frescoes recalling the mythical period of the 1920 s. The card only contains existing alcohols at the time of prohibition (vodka is absent for example), and whisky reigns as a master. The full-fledged veston-clips servers transmit the order to the experienced bartenders who prepare each drink with art. Tasting menu to taste 3 emblematic cocktails of the house, accompanied by a cookie and a chocolate bar. One of the best bars in Philadelphia.
