CHRIST CHURCH BURIAL GROUND
Paying tribute

In this graveyard, which is not attached to the church of the same name, lies most of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, prominent figures in American history like Thomas Bond who created the first public hospital and especially Benjamin Franklin, whose grave is visible from Arch Street. Tourists were used to launching pennys to pay tribute to the one who said «a penny saved, is a penny won» - bad habit which, repeatedly, damages tombstone.
