BETSY ROSS HOUSE
According to history for over 200 years, three men, George Washington, entered Betsy Ross's tapestry workshop, a day of 1777, barely one year after the Declaration of Independence. Washington would then have shown him the sketch of a flag to thirteen red bands and thirteen stars (for the 13 colonies having signed the Declaration) by asking him to design it. That's how Betsy comes into the legend with the first American flag. Today, Arch Street's house is visiting and has an overview of the interior of a typical th century house of craftsmen. From the bedroom to the kitchen, everything is furnished as then, and one can see, in particular, the glasses and the Bible that belonged to Betsy Ross. Outside, in the courtyard, there are often fun and free animations with costumes in costumes telling stories.
