PENN MUSEUM
The City's Archeology and Anthropology Museum, founded in 1887, is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. An incredible collection is presented on 20 galleries, with objects from Africa, South America and Asia. Some pieces are dated thousands of years, like Queen Puabi's jewels lived in Mesopotamia around 2,600 BC. The collection on Egypt is just as remarkable: In addition to being able to admire real mummies, some without strips, you will have access to the lab in which they are examined (behind a glass, of course) and learn more about the techniques used to pierce the mysteries surrounding them. Don't miss to stop in front of the impressive sphinx, the third largest in the world.
