Founded in 1824 by engineer Samuel Vaughan Merrick and chemist William Keating to promote mechanical sciences, the place became a museum in 1934. Very playful, the museum explains science in a simple way and touches a lot of children. The impressive locomotive that is moving forward and the huge human heart in which you can penetrate to understand its operation are the two attractions not missing. In addition to permanent and temporary exhibitions, The Franklin Institute has three theaters, I-Max (360 °), Franklin Theater and Planetarium, which broadcast films on a wide range of exciting subjects such as the human body, the universe, great inventions or treasures of the seas. Before the big thrill for the brave children who will take up skybike, which allows to cross the museum to a good ten meters of height!

Benjamin Franklin National Memorial. An immense statue of Benjamin Franklin, founding father of America, but also a renowned physicist, welcomes us in his chair at the entrance to the museum.
