INDEPENDENCE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK
This park is home to the Independence Visitor Center where tourists can get a wealth of information about the city.
This is where most of Philadelphia's most visited historic buildings are grouped, including Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Declaration House and Congress Hall, to name but a few. The park is generally delimited by 2 nd St, 6 th St, Locust St and Market St. The Independence Visitor Center is also here in the Independence Visitor Center, where visitors can obtain a wealth of information about the city and its points of interest, especially those in the park. If you want to visit the most important sites here, you have to count at least two days or more if you like to take your time.
Apart from the many historic buildings, Independence National Historic Park includes many plaques and statues that you can see by walking around the neighborhood, most paying tribute to the heroes of Independence. There are two statues of George Washington, one on Washington Square, overhanging the grave of the Unknown Soldier of the War of Independence. The Signing, which enjoys both a statue and a plaque, was inspired by George Clymer, a Philadelphian merchant and statesman who signed both the Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution. But also Benjamin Franklin, John Barry, Robert Morris and the thousands of American soldiers fallen during the War of Independence are being honored in this park. Also, a plaque in honor of Abraham Lincoln and another dedicated to John F. Kennedy.
