The first inhabitants of the village were Quakers and Swiss ménonnites. In 1749, Quakers built this meeting on two floors, which allowed for the organization of religious meetings or services. Note, right next door is a large stone with a few small steps carved into the rock. It dates back to that time and was used to help women to ride in carriages without salir their dress. It is very rare to see it again today.
