NEW ENGLAND CONSERVATORY

Located across the street from Northeastern University, it is the oldest independent music school in the United States. NEC Jordan Hall, which seats over 1,000, is renowned for the quality of its acoustics. It was built in 1903 and has been a U.S. National Historic Landmark since 1994. It's a beautiful building, with its horseshoe-shaped balconies and Italian-inspired organ. Proof of its importance is the fact that the vast majority of the world's leading classical musicians have performed here.
