BENJAMIN FRANKLIN STATUE
Statue commemorating the former location of the nation's first public school in Boston.
Benjamin Franklin, founding father of the United States and signatory of the Declaration of Independence, is at the origin of the Constitution of the United States, but also of the invention of the lightning conductor. This great man was born in Boston, a stone's throw from Old City Hall on Milk Street. His modest house, destroyed by fire in 1810, is no longer visible but many elements remind us of Franklin's presence. This statue, therefore, but also the plaque in front of Old City Hall, which commemorates the former site of the first public school in the country, of which he was a student.
