BUNKER HILL MUSEUM
Monument in memory of the victims of the Bunker Hill battle, one of the deadliest of the Revolutionary War.
This monument was erected in memory of the victims of the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. The latter is considered one of the deadliest battles of the War of Independence. The cornerstone of the future monument was laid by the Marquis de Lafayette, hero of the war, fifty years later. To reach its summit, one must climb the 294 steps leading up to the top of the granite obelisk. Since 2007, a small museum located at the foot of the monument, along the square, tells the battle of Bunker Hill in detail.
