The oldest of Boston's waterfront parks. Several memorials are built here.
Opened in 1976, it is the oldest of the Boston waterfront parks. It also initiated the development of the other parks on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Several memorials have been built there, including one in honor of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, JFK's Boston-born mother. The park reserves a very pleasant walk a stone's throw from the aquarium. A statue of Christopher Columbus, repeatedly vandalized and decapitated since the 2000s, was there until June 2020.
