Time difference Boston
It's 7 o'clock in France. When it's 5pm in Paris, it's 10am in Boston. This is true in both winter and summer, since daylight saving time takes place on roughly the same dates in France and the United States (give or take a week or two).
Opening hours Boston
To see / To do Boston
Most of Boston's attractions and museums are open every day of the week, generally from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., all year round, with the exception of certain holidays, notably December 25, January1 and Thanksgiving. Smaller structures may close one or two days a week, often on Mondays and/or Tuesdays, and sometimes on Sundays. Boston is particularly busy from May to October, but the city remains lively all year round.
Enjoying yourself Boston
Most restaurants in Boston stay open all day without interruption. They usually close around 10:00 p.m. later on Friday and Saturday nights. You won't have any trouble finding a place to eat, no matter what time of day it is. Only gourmet restaurants open only in the evening or close between lunch and dinner.
Take a break Boston
In Boston, pubs generally open at noon, as they serve food for lunch. More upscale venues, such as cocktail bars, rarely open before 4pm. Closing times vary from 11pm on weekdays to a maximum of 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. You won't find places open until 4 or 5 in the morning like in France. It's simply not part of the culture: here, evenings start earlier and end earlier!
During Happy Hour, generally offered on weekdays between 3pm and 6pm, bars offer cocktails, beers or glasses of wine at reduced prices.
(To) please yourself Boston
Most shops and shopping centres are open every day, from 10 am to 9 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays. Independent shops may have shorter opening hours and close on Sundays.
Get out Boston
Most places to go out in Boston are open every night, with the exception of nightclubs, which close at the beginning of the week. Thursday through Sunday are obviously busiest, so if you're planning to see a show or go out on those nights, we recommend making reservations. Note, however, that few places close after 2 a.m., even on weekends.
