MONOMOY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Refuge offering a natural habitat for migratory birds and a place, protected since 1944, to see seals
This refuge provides a natural habitat for migratory birds. It is immense: its 31 km² stretching out over the ocean shelters dunes, freshwater marshes, ponds and a lighthouse, the Monomoy Lighthouse. In addition to the many varieties of birds (cormorants, herons, vultures, eagles and other falcons), you will see an impressive number of seals. The place has been protected since 1944. You can walk on Morris Island, connected to the peninsula by a tongue of land.
