OLD MILL
Former windmill, the last survivor of a set of four mills and owned by the Nantucket Historical Association
This old windmill gives Nantucket a little bit of a flat country feel. Nathan Wilbur, the sailor who built it in 1746, spent time in Holland. In 1848, the windmill was sold for 20 dollars and restored by its new owner in 1848. The Old Mill is the last survivor of a complex of four mills and has been owned by the Nantucket Historical Association since the early 20th century. To learn more about it, guided tours are available every half hour.
