WENTWORTH-GARDNER & TOBIAS LEAR HOUSES
Two houses of Georgian architecture, located south of Strawbery Banke Museum and offering a clear view of the harbor.
A pure example of Georgian architecture with dense and well-preserved decoration. These two houses, built in 1750 and 1760, are a little far from the city centre, but they are still accessible on foot. They are located south of the Strawberry Banke Museum and offer a beautiful view of the harbour. The Wentworth family was one of the wealthiest families in Portsmouth in the 18th century. The house now belongs to the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
