PRESCOTT PARK
Park in front of the Strawbery Banke Museum with a beautifully flowered garden of over 500 varieties of flowers in Portsmouth
Prescott Park is located directly opposite the Strawbery Banke Museum, along the Piscataqua River between State and Mechanic Streets. It offers a fine view of the shipyard. 5 hectares of gardens, part of which is beautifully flowered with over 500 varieties of flowers, where you can laze by the water. In summer, there's a big family festival, which never ceases to amaze when you consider that, before it was a park, it was Portsmouth's "red light district". Sailors came here to spend their pay, in bars and brothels.
