The von Trapp family, whose story is told in the famous Anglo-Saxon musical The Sound of Music, founded this lodge after leaving Austria for the USA. The architecture of this huge lodge is reminiscent of Alpine chalets. The setting is magnificent, and nature is omnipresent. Rooms are warmly decorated, some with fireplaces and whirlpool baths. The 2,400 ha surrounding the lodge are an ideal playground for hikers, mountain bikers and snowshoe trekkers.
