PHNOM PENH CITY HALL
The town hall, housed in a handsome, imposing colonial building, lends the area a nostalgic air of bygone days.
This beautiful colonial building is in fact the former bishopric, now occupied by the services of the municipality. Since 1925 this imposing building has remained on the same site. Its various renovations have preserved the colonial appearance of the building. The town hall is part of a group of buildings in the area around Wat Phnom and the Central Post Office that has retained this historical aspect and gives the surrounding area a nostalgic air of the old days, which today's Phnom Penh seems to have forgotten in the midst of its gigantic development projects.
