MONUMENT TO THE CAMBODIAN WAR DEAD OF THE 1914-1918 WAR
Monument to the Cambodian dead of the 1914-1918 war, a stone's throw from the French Embassy in Phnom Penh.
This bronze monument, which was once located a stone's throw from the French Embassy, was destroyed by the Khmer Rouge and only the base remains. But two of the four colossal elephant heads that adorned it now stand on either side of the entrance to the National Museum, and the rest of the monument has been placed on the north side of the museum, in the gardens. While the work itself may not be impressive, its emotional appeal makes it an interesting addition to your visit to the city.
