WAT POVEAL
A modern architectural pagoda in Battambang containing numerous sculptures rescued from thieves and displayed in bulk.
This pagoda is really worth a visit. It was for a long time the center of a very famous teaching and preserved many Buddhist manuscripts dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. At present, it shelters many sculptures saved from thieves and exposed in bulk. The architecture, modern, is also interesting. A style found in many Cambodian religious structures, particularly highlighted here in the middle of a well laid out garden. Monks and believers frequent the place assiduously.
