MONUMENTAL STATUES
Monumental statues of Dâmbâng Krâgnoung at the southeast exit and Preah Noreaye with eight arms at the northwest exit.
The trips from Battambang (RN 5) are marked by two roundabouts, on which (the late 1990 s) two large and easily identifiable statues were erected. At the south-east exit (direction Phnom Penh) is the representation of Dâmbâng Krâgnoung, legendary hero who would have founded the city of Battambang at the place where he lost his command stick (dambang beats means "lost stick"). At the north-west exit (going to Sisophon) stands the statue of a eight-arm character that the Khmer calls Preah Noreaye.
