PRASAT ANDET
Floating temple, a pre-Angkorian edifice dating from the century, where the HariHara of Prasat Andet has been found. Active pagoda and monastery.
The "Floating Temple" is an isolated pre-Angkorian brick building from the 8th century, which owes its fame not to its own originality but because the superb Harihara of Prasat Andet - a half-Shiva, half-Vishnu statue displayed on a decorative throne - was found there and is now exhibited in the Phnom Penh Museum. This is a must for students of archaeology as the building is very ruined. A recent pagoda and monastery are still in use. The whole thing makes for an interesting walk if you happen to be in the area.
