AÉROPORT INTERNATIONAL DE SIEM REAP-ANGKOR
Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport is the country's largest airport and the main gateway for foreign tourists visiting the famous Angkor temples. With a capacity of 7 million passengers, it is expected to increase to 12 million a year by 2040. The airport is some 40 km from the Angkor temples and 50 km from Siem Reap town, and can be reached from the town in 1 to 1.5 hours.
The journey from the town to the new SAI airport is in two stages. The first part is on the often congested Route Nationale 6. The second 24.5 km leg is faster, thanks to the airport's new expressway. Total travel time by cab or minibus is estimated at at least one hour, but can be much longer during the busy vacation season. Airport shuttle buses and minibuses run daily between Siem Reap and SAI airport. Private cabs are also available.
