ANGKOR VILLAGE HOTEL
The wonders of Angkor have been added for some years to those of Siem Reap. Olivier and Vatho, a former Franco-Khmer architect, built one of the most pleasant and successful hotels in Cambodia. It is a collection of wooden pavilions connected to each other by large floor passages, on different levels, combined with a beautiful garden. 48 rooms in all: the most luxurious grouped by two in pavilions (1 st floor and ground floor), the smallest divided into individual bungalows occupying intermediate spaces. Library and separate TV lounge. The bar-restaurant - the Auberge des Temples - is located in a large high-roof pavilion occupying the centre of the complex and surrounded by a flourishing pool of tropical plants. Wood construction is inspired by old monks villages built around pagodas, rooms are spacious, bright and airy, and, to the smallest detail, everything has been designed and achieved with a very safe taste. At this level, it's no longer architecture, it's goldsmith! Excellent welcome. Restoration: from $ 4 to $ 16 for a dish à la carte. $ 14 and $ 16 menus (open from 6 am to 10 pm, 12 am to 15 pm, 18 pm to 22 pm).
