GALERIE MCDERMOTT
This renowned artist, who has been renowned for several decades on the other side of the Atlantic, settled here in 1995. In his book Elegy, John McDermott offers a classic portrait of temples of rare sensitivity. His work is also displayed throughout the National Museum of Phnom Penh as part of their permanent collection. Once a year, the gallery hosts exhibitions of international photographers from the Angkor Photo Festival, and plans a new exhibition of historical photographs of Angkor from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in collaboration with the Ecole Française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO). Finally, John proposes, through temporary exhibitions on the first floor, to promote painters and artists from the region. At the time of writing, the FCC gallery is under renovation and is expected to reopen in 2019. In the meantime, he exhibits his photos at the Park Hyatt.
