TONLÉ TOUCH
A hundred-kilometre long river, leaving the Mekong at Kompong Cham and joining the Mekong at Banam, in a lush setting
It is a long river of a hundred kilometers that leaves the Mekong at Kompong Cham and joins it at Banam, downstream from Phnom Penh. The ride on the Tonle Touch has nothing to do with the ride up the Mekong. The immense flat water expanse as far as the eye can see gives way to a deep dive into a lush green paradise where the river meanders endlessly. We catch the Khmers in all their familiar occupations: fishing, cooking, bathing, playing, etc. All along the way, there are only shouts of joy and screams of kids delighted to see Barangs on a boat.
