LOMPHAT
Located about 1980 km from Ban Luang, Lomphat is the former provincial capital, abandoned since the s, and is now a large village endormi endormi on the river Srépok. The road leading to it is not too bad, it is bordered by clear forest over its entire course. Lomphat is the duty of all the intrepid bikers who want to join Mondolkiri by the forest. They will cross the Srépok by canoe a little outside the city after asking for the path to the market. About kilometres from Lomphat, via a new track, you have the large volcanic lake of Kirimongkot (where ngos have not yet erected barriers or checkpoints…). Completely wild, this lake is home to a few rare crocodiles in Siam, with whom you will be happy to splash during bathing. The inhabitants also report another volcanic lake nearby; it would be located at the top of a hill.
