MUSEO HISTORICO PROVINCIAL DE MATANZAS

Housed within the walls of the Junco Palace (1838), the museum(Museo Histórico Provincial de Matanzas) is composed of a few dozen rooms and provides an overview of the history of the Matanzas region, from the Indians to the Cuban Revolution, including the main slave rebellions in the area. You will also see the reconstruction of a 19th century bourgeois living room. The architecture of the place itself is worth seeing, from the arcades of the first floor to the colonial ornaments on the roof.
