CEMENTERIO TOMAS ACEA
Classified as a national monument, it is the first garden cemetery in the country: its façade is a faithful replica of the Parthenon in Athens. The portico of the cemetery is supported by no less than 64 columns of 7 m high. It was inaugurated on November 21, 1926 in honor of a wealthy Cienfuegos resident named Nicolás Salvador Acea y de los Ríos, thanks to the money from his widow, and named after their child, Tomás. The spatial organization of the cemetery was inspired by the French model of Père-Lachaise. If you don't go in, at least stop at the entrance.
