This site, chosen in 1819 for the new French colony, is the heart of the historic district. A rosette on the ground indicates the spot designated by de Clouet. See the Arc de Triomphe (1902), the only one of its kind in Cuba, and the white marble statue of Martí (1906), both commemorating the birth of the Cuban Republic. Two lions standing on high pedestals protect the entrance. Linger over the majestic buildings surrounding the square. Ideal for sitting in the shade and enjoying the moment.

Belle place centrale, très touristique. Alors que je déambulais dans le calme de Cienfuergos, j'ai été surprise par le nombre de touristes et l'agitation de l'endroit.
De beaux édifices entourent la place : palais du gouvernement, théâtre Tomas Terry, Musée provincial...

Vaste place avec en son centre un hommage à la naissance de la République cubaine, très bien située elle est bordée de la cathédrale, du théâtre et du très beau Palacio Ferrer er non loin des rues piétonnes. Belle mise en valeur des espaces verts et bancs pour se reposer un instant
