With the introduction of the new trains in 2019, service has improved with more comfortable trains. In terms of fares, the Havana-Camaguey trip is 60 CUP in 1st class (air-conditioned car) and 45 CUP in 2nd class. The schedules are not yet clearly defined, so ask directly at the station.
Good to know. The station is currently under construction as it will soon house a museum on the history of trains in Cuba but it remains open to the public and the trains are operating despite the ongoing construction.
