Good news: the museum, long under restoration, has finally reopened! The town could not fail to honor the memory of one of its most famous natives. In 1973, a museum was opened within the walls of the house where Ignacio Agramonte (1841-1873) was born. Agramonte, the region's leading independence fighter, fought 45 battles before being shot dead in 1873 at the age of 32 by Spanish troops, who burned his body in retaliation.
