IGLESIA DE OROSÍ
Colonial Church of San José, one of the oldest in the country still in service and classified as Historical Heritage.
Unlike Cartago, and despite the earthquakes, the small town of Orosi, named after a Huetar chief from the time of the conquest, has preserved some of its old buildings. In the center of the city, the colonial church of San José is an admirable example; it is one of the oldest churches in the country still in use. It was built in the middle of the 18th century and was declared Historical Heritage in 1920. Its architecture is typical of the colonial period, integrating convent and church in the same building.
